Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's daughter, Seraphina Rose has come out as a trans person. At Garner's father's memorial service, they introduced themselves as Fin. 

Fin, formerly known as Seraphina, is 15 years old. At their grandfather's memorial service that took place at a church in West Virginia, US - they appeared in a black tuxedo and a buzz cut. While speaking at the service, they introduced themselves as, "Hello, my name is Fin Affleck."

While Seraphina was spotted with her new haircut earlier this year, this was the time that she introduced herself with her new name in public. 

Ben and Jennifer Garner have three kids together - Violet Anne Affleck, 19, Fin, and Samuel Garner Affleck, 12. Ben and Jennifer divorced in 2015 and continue co-parenting their kids. Ben is now married to singer-actress Jennifer Lopez. The couple tied the knot in 2022. 

Lopez shares twins - son and daughter - with former husband Marc Anthony. In 2022, Lopez introduced daughter Emme at a public event with they/them pronouns. Emme identifies themselves as non-binary. 

Jennifer Garner's note for her father

Jennifer's father William John Garner passed away on April 2 at the age of 85. Jennifer shared the news of her father's death on Instagram. 

William John Garner, who was a chemical engineer for Union Carbide, died over the Easter weekend. The cause of his death was not disclosed. 

“My dad passed peacefully Saturday afternoon. We were with him, singing Amazing Grace as he left us (did we carry him across or scare him away — valid question.) While there is no tragedy in the death of an 85-year-old man who lived a healthy, wonderful life, I know grief is unavoidable, waiting around unexpected corners. Today is for gratitude,” Jennifer wrote alongside a throwback photo of the father-daughter pair.

Jennifer said she and her family are grateful for her father's gentle demeanour and quiet strength. “For how he teased with a mischievous smile, and for the way he invented the role of all-in, ever patient girl dad. We are grateful for his work ethic, leadership and faith,” she added.
