Country music star Jelly Roll will stop in Calgary next year as part of his Canadian tour scheduled for spring 2025.

The Grammy-nominated artist announced The Beautifully Broken Great Northern Tour on Tuesday, with Calgary’s scheduled show set for March 11. Other tour stops include Toronto, Vancouver, Laval, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Ottawa, London and Quebec City.

All tour dates will see support from Josh Ross, Savannah Dexter and Brabo Gator.

Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, launched his career in the early 2000s in hip-hop, but rose to mainstream fame in 2022 with country singles Son of a Sinner and Need a Favor gaining widespread popularity. Son of a Sinner earned the artist three CMT Music Awards in 2023.

His recent album, Beautifully Broken, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 All Genre Chart. The album also took the No. 3 spot on the Billboard Canadian Album Chart, and spent two weeks as the No. 1 Canadian country album. It features collaborations with Wiz Khalifa, Machine Gun Kelly and Isley Juber on its standard edition, and Halsey, Keith Urban, Skylar Gray, Russ and Ernest on the deluxe edition.

Jelly Roll had been previously unable to tour internationally due to a collection of felony convictions. His first-ever international show took place in Canada earlier this year.

Last week, the singer earned his fourth career Grammy nomination, with two nominations for the 2025 Grammys including Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for his hit about the struggles of mental health, I Am Not Okay.

Jelly Roll uses his platform to support several causes. The artist donated a recording studio to the juvenile detention centre he served in as a teen, visits rehab centres and incarcerated people across the U.S., and is an advocate for an anti-fentanyl bill in the U.S., acknowledging his part in contributing to the overdose crisis.

Additionally, the philanthropist, who will be honoured with the Changemaker of the Year Award at Variety’s 2024 annual Hitmakers celebration, donated 100 per cent of the profits from his Beautifully Broken album CD and vinyl presales to various charities listed on his website.

Tickets will be available for pre-sale on Tuesday at 1 p.m., followed by American Express pre-sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. General sale begins Friday at 1 p.m. local time.
