Arsenal working on deal to sign Jakub Kiwior from Spezia

Arsenal are working on a deal to sign Jakub Kiwior from Italian side Spezia for a fee in excess of €20million (£17.5million).

The north London side are looking to sign the central defender to bolster Mikel Arteta’s side as they push for the Premier League title.

The 22-year-old is highly rated after playing 37 games for Spezia in the league since joining them in the summer of 2021. Before then, he shone for Zilina in Slovakia.

Kiwior has also collected nine caps for Poland’s senior side, having made his debut earlier this year. He was part of their squad in Qatar, making four appearances.

Arsenal are hoping to wrap up a deal for Brighton’s Leandro Trossard today, having agreed to sign the forward for £27million on Thursday.

The Premier League leaders play a huge game in the race for the title on Sunday afternoon when they face Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.
