Canadiens recall goaltender Jakub Dobes
The Montreal Canadiens recalled goaltender Jakub Dobes from the Laval Rocket on Friday.
The 23-year-old Czech made his return to action in a 2-1 win over the Senators on Dec. 20 in Belleville. He had been sidelined by injury since Dec. 6.
Dobes played 14 games with the Habs' training camp this season. He has a 9-3-1 record, a 2.44 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage in his second professional season.
He has never seen action in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Dobes will assist Samuel Montembeault, who boasts a 12-14-2 record and a .900 rating in 28 games so far this campaign.
He has started the team's last 10 games.
Cayden Primeau, meanwhile, is struggling, posting a 2-3-1 record and a .836 save percentage in 11 games.
He conceded five goals on 29 shots in his last start, on Dec. 1 against the Bruins in Boston.
The Canadiens return to action on Saturday afternoon when they visit the Florida Panthers.
