Jadon Sancho completes late Chelsea loan move after Manchester ...

Chelsea have signed Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United, after the clubs reached an agreement late on transfer deadline day and got the move completed with the help of a deal sheet.

It is believed that the deal - wrapped up before the two-hour extension that gave them until 1am BST in the early hours of Saturday morning - includes an obligation to make the move a permanent one next summer for a fee of around £25million if certain criteria are met, which would bring an end to Sancho’s difficult spell at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old arrived at United from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund for £73million in the summer of 2021, but has failed to produce his best form on a consistent basis since then and lost his place in the England squad.

Ex-Manchester City youngster Sancho fell out with manager Erik ten Hag last season and spent the second half of the campaign on loan back at Dortmund, before returning to United training in the summer after a meeting with the Dutchman.

However, Sancho has played no part in United’s first two games of the Premier League season, despite featuring during summer friendlies and also coming off the bench late against City in the Community Shield at Wembley earlier this month.

Chelsea have moved to sign the winger, despite already bringing in Pedro Neto and Joao Felix this summer to add to their existing attacking options, which include Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku and Marc Guiu.

Raheem Sterling has now joined Arsenal on a loan deal with no option to buy following another move completed late on deadline day.
