ChatGPT is down: What happened and when will it be back?
ChatGPT users might find issues connecting to the program this afternoon after outages began to be reported around an hour ago on Down Detector, a site that crowdsources reports on connectivity issues.
Most users will see this error message: “ChatGPT is currently unavailable. Status: Identified - We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix.”
The news of the outage follows a similar saga that has unfolded across Meta platform’s including Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp earlier today.
A similar message posted on XHowever, there is no timeline for when the AI will be back online. Open AI, the organization that owns ChatGPT, posted a similar message on X: “We’re experiencing an outage right now. We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix. Sorry, and we’ll keep you updated!”
