In 2022, drama reigned over the closing laps in the Indy 500. Eventual winner Marcus Ericsson had to hold off Pato O'Ward after a late red flag. Already, there had been a bit of drama around this year's edition.

During practice Monday, four-time starter Stefan Wilson was wrecked by Katherine Legge, leading to Wilson having to undergo back surgery. That opened the door for Graham Rahal to make his 16th consecutive start after it looked as if he was on the outside looking in when he was bumped during qualifying.

Rahal made the jump from a Honda to a Chevrolet to replace the injured Wilson, something that wasn't nearly as easy as it sounds. Thanks to some finagling, contracts and cutting through other red tape, Rahal has another shot at kissing bricks and drinking milk on Sunday.
