Azealia Banks Blasts Ice Spice And Manager In Cleotrapa's Defense
Azealia Banks has stepped into the fray involving fellow rap stars Ice Spice and Cleotrapa, coming to the latter’s defense while slamming Ice Spice and her manager for their seeming slander of the rising artist.
On Wednesday (Sept. 4), Banks took to X to express her solidarity with Cleo and voice her distaste over how she’s been portrayed on social media. “I don’t like how everyone is trying to make cleotrapa look,” Banks began, revealing that Cleotrapa will be taking the stage alongside her at an upcoming show in New York City.
“@iamcleotrapa will be performing with me on Halloween Oct 31. at @Terminal5NYC,” she continued, ensuring that the upstart will be fairly compensated and treated in a respectful manner. “She will – be paid, have her own space to glam, whatever she wants on her rider.. because i have f**king respect & class,” Banks wrote, adding, “Period. End Of Discussion.“
The “212” rapper then responded to a social media user referencing Cleo’s claim that Ice Spice’s handlers refused to pay for a chicken salad she ordered while on tour with the “Munch” rapper, vowing that she would not face similar issues during their own show. “She can have 50 different styles of chicken salads,” Banks wrote back to the fan. “It’s whatever she desires.”
In a subsequent post, the Harlem native blasted both Ice Spice and her manager for their reaction to Cleo’s allegations of mistreatment and broken promises during her stint on Ice Spice’s Y2K Tour earlier this year.
“Ice spices manager is a bird ass ni**a 4 trying to add insult to injury when a young girl is expressing how she feels,” Banks wrote. “He’s trying to make cleo look like an amateur when the fact that he’s even chiming in at all is ghetto, low class and a huge sign of having zero skin in the game.”
She then advised Ice Spice’s handler to focus on his own client, criticizing the hitmaker’s physical appearance. “How about he get his artist some filler for those smile lines,” she snapped, referencing Ice Spice. “She’s aging like f**king milk.”
Ice Spice and her manager have been in a back-and-forth with Cleotrapa in recent days, as the “Von Dutch” artist recently shared her discontentment regarding her accommodations and mistreatment while trekking alongside Ice Spice on the Y2K Tour.
This prompted both Ice Spice and her manager to deem Cleo as unappreciative and “entitled” for her seeming demands.
As for Azealia Banks, this is not the first time she’s come for Ice Spice in a public manner. Back in June, she criticized Ice Spice’s Y2K aesthetic following the release of dual album covers for her debut studio album.
“Somebody needs to tell @icespice Absolutely nothing about this aesthetically, performance wise, production wise is Y2K at all,” Banks remarked at the time. “This is like VIM early Nicki Minaj pack weave sh*t.”
