The fun begins at 3 p.m. with a free barbecue and performance by Jessie T

Anyone who isn't already feeling the holiday spirit will be after the CPKC Holiday Train rolls into Cambridge later today.

The free event at the 10 Malcolm Street station begins at 3 p.m. with a Winterfest preshow featuring Jessie T and a barbecue hosted by the Cambridge Food Bank. Cash and food donations for the food bank are welcome during the event.

The train arrives at 4 p.m. and a concert featuring American Authors and KT Tunstall will rock the crowd until the train departs at 4:55 p.m., offering a great view of the illuminated train from Dickson Park as it makes its way over the Grand River in Galt.

The 2024 CPKC Holiday Train began its tour of Canada and the U.S. on Nov. 21 and will wrap up on Dec. 20, raising money, food and awareness to support food banks in communities across the CPKC network.

Professional musicians play free concerts from the brightly decorated train's stage and CPKC donates to the local food bank at each stop and encourages all attendees to make a monetary or heart-healthy food donation.

2024 marks the 20th anniversary the CPKC Holiday Train has stopped in Cambridge.

Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $24.3 million and collected approximately 5.3 million pounds of food for community food banks in Canada and the U.S.

General parking is not available onsite. Free parking for the event is available near the event. The city says limited accessible parking will be available on Roseview Road.
