KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey program announced its 2024-25 non-conference schedule this afternoon, which includes six games at Lawson Arena and 10 in the state of Michigan.

The Broncos went undefeated in non-conference play last season, outscoring their opponents by a margin of 45-17. Under Pat Ferschweiler, WMU is 25-5-1 against non-NCHC foes in the regular season.

To start the season, Western Michigan will have a home exhibition game against the U.S. National Under-18 Team on Oct. 5. WMU downed the USNTDP 9-4 last season.

Regular season play begins on Oct. 11 with a home game against Ferris State. The Broncos then travel to Big Rapids to conclude the series on Oct. 12. The following week, the Brown and Gold will host Bowling Green for one game at Lawson Arena. That is set for Oct. 17.

Next up will be a trip to Boston College for the first ever meeting between the Eagles and Broncos. That game is scheduled for Oct. 26 in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

After some NCHC games, the Broncos will square off with in-state rival Michigan during Thanksgiving weekend. WMU will host the Wolverines on Nov. 29 and travel to Ann Arbor on Nov. 30.

WMU will then make a return to the Great Lakes Invitational on Dec. 29-30. The Broncos won the GLI in their last appearance in 2022, outscoring those opponents, 16-3. This year's field consists of WMU, Michigan State, Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech. Western Michigan will open with MTU.

To conclude the non-conference schedule, Western Michigan will host Alaska Anchorage on Jan. 3-4. The two teams last met to open the 2022-23 season.

The Broncos are finalizing another home exhibition game that will be announced at a later date.
