Did you know that Hello Kitty is apparently not a cat, but rather a girl with cat-like features? This popular cartoon non-cat has lent her likeness to over 50,000 branded products, and now is adding barista and coffee mogul to her resume. Sorta.

Today (May 17), the first Canadian Hello Kitty Cafe opened in Vancouver on Robson Street. The wildly pink and undoubtedly Instagrammable spot features multiple backdrop opportunities (think: pink bow everywhere). The cafe offers a variety of Hello Kitty-themed drinks and treats, including swirled ice cream in a waffle cone shaped like her head (it’s not as morbid as it sounds, we swear!).

“We’re thrilled that the highly anticipated Hello Kitty Cafe is finally opening in Vancouver, adding a touch of cuteness and cheer to the city,” shares Craig Takiguchi, COO of Hello Kitty parent company Sanrio, Inc., in a release. “Hello Kitty has been an ambassador of friendship and kindness for the past 50 years, and this cafe is a wonderful way to celebrate her legacy. We look forward to welcoming the local Vancouver community and sharing in their memorable Hello Kitty-inspired experiences.”

Hello Kitty Cafe Vancouver is located at 1274 Robson Street.
