With the upcoming release of “The Anthology Part IV: Going Home,” Garth Brooks, one of country music’s most legendary artists, will reveal a significant chapter in his life. Slated for December 6th, this latest installment in Brooks’ acclaimed “Anthology” series will shine a light on the 14 years the superstar spent in his home state of Oklahoma after stepping away from the spotlight to focus on his family.

“Those fourteen years of my life are the ones I’ll always remember,” Brooks said in a statement. “It was life at its best. I learned to be a dad; my girls got to know me, and I’d never for one second regret walking away from a career in order to find all of that.”

The new anthology promises never-before-seen photos and personal stories from Brooks himself, as well as insights from his wife, fellow country icon Trisha Yearwood, and other close friends and confidants. Notably, it will also include six full discs of music, featuring songs from Brooks’ projects “The Lost Sessions,” “Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences,” and early releases on Capitol Records.

This latest chapter in the Anthology series dives into a pivotal period for Brooks, beginning on October 26, 2000—a day that saw the country star and his label, Capitol Records, celebrate over 100 million RIAA-certified album sales. It was on that very day that Brooks shocked the industry by announcing his retirement from touring.

After dominating country music through the 1990s with a string of multiplatinum albums and electrifying live shows, Brooks chose to step away to spend more time with his three young daughters. His “retirement” lasted until 2014, when he returned to the stage, launching a new tour and a Sin City residency.

The Anthology Part IV promises an intimate look at those 14 years Brooks spent in Oklahoma, away from the bright lights of superstardom. Fans will no doubt be eager to hear the artist’s firsthand account of that transformative time in his life and career.

Brooks’ Anthology series has proven to be a revelatory look at the iconic singer-songwriter’s journey. Released in 2017, the first installment chronicled the early years of his rise to fame, while subsequent volumes have explored his creative process and the making of some of his most beloved albums.

With Part IV, Brooks appears poised to deliver another must-listen chapter for devoted fans and newcomers alike. The chance to gain a deeper understanding of the man behind the music is sure to have Garth Brooks devotees counting down the days until this latest anthology hits shelves.

Whether you’re a longtime listener or a newcomer to Brooks’ remarkable body of work, “The Anthology Part IV: Going Home” promises to offer a uniquely personal perspective on one of country music’s most influential and beloved figures. On December 6th, we will unveil this next installment of the Garth Brooks story.
