November 2024 full moon: When and for how many days will the ...
During the last days of this week, the full moon for November will arrive, which will also be the fourth supermoon of 2024.
Known as the Beaver Moon, or also called the Frost Moon, it will be the last of four Supermoons this year, i.e. our natural satellite will appear larger and brighter than normal.
The name Beaver Moon is because this is the time of year when beavers begin to seek shelter after having stored enough food for the long winter ahead.
Due to the seasonal change in November, the November full moon has also been called the Frost Moon, as winter and freezing cold are just around the corner.
On Friday, November 15, beginning at 4:29 p.m. Eastern Time, 1:29 p.m. Pacific Time, the Beaver Moon will reach its peak illumination.
When and for how many days will the beaver moon be visible?Friday is the first day to appreciate the Beaver Moon, and it's worth remembering that most of the time, the full moon is not perfectly full.
We always see the same face of the Moon, but part of it is in shadow due to the Moon's rotation. Only when the Moon, Earth and Sun are perfectly aligned is the Moon 100% full.
Occasionally, once in a blue moon, the moon is full twice a month or four times a season.
The November supermoon, or Beaver Moon, can be seen from Friday, November 15, and will be visible for three nights, until Sunday, November 17. From Monday night onwards, it will begin to wane and decrease in size, to begin the next lunar phase, known as the waning convex moon, or waning gibbous moon.
