Tuesday evening was icy for Ottawa and its neighbours.
Environment Canada issued freezing rain warnings around 1 p.m. for the capital and communities around it as far as Gatineau, Prescott-Russell, Brockville and Sharbot Lake.
Forecasters called for a few hours of snow, then several hours of freezing rain in the evening before a change to either snow or rain.
The capital is expected to hit 2 C by morning and peak at 4 C Wednesday and Thursday.
There were winter weather travel advisories for Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning for almost all of the rest of eastern Ontario, except for communities close to Lake Ontario.
Expect more like four to eight centimetres of snow and a slightly earlier switch to rain in those areas.
The Lanark and Renfrew county border was the rough border here between the warning and the advisory.
All weather alerts ended overnight.
This may lead to daily snow records in places such as Gatineau, Kemptville, Stirling and Val-des-Monts.
Check CBC's Climate Dashboard for trends — now with rain and snowKingston should still have gotten a mix of snow and ice, but less than areas to the north.
On the other side of these advisories, people in the Maniwaki area may wake up to five to 10 centimetres of overnight snow without any freezing rain.
