SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Last night, May 28, the Panthers beat the Rangers 3-2, tying the series up 2-2 going into game five of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals.

Florida Panthers center, Sam Reinhart, scores in OT with the perfect scenario. He was alone in the slot on the power play and Panthers captain, Aleksander Barkov, set Reinhart up for the game-winning goal.

Reinhart is NHL’s power-play goal leader this year and came through with his 65th and most important goal of the season evening up the Eastern Conference Final.

This NHL Eastern Conference has been anything but smooth sailing for both teams, last night was the third straight games in a row they went to OT, a best-of-seven series is now a best-of-three.

Florida Panther’s coach, Paul Maurice said, “I think it’s phenomenal hockey. If you’re up three-nothing, that’s easy for the coach to say. But it’s 2-2. It’s tight. Great saves at both ends. There’s incredible skill, incredible speed ... just two really good teams. You can tell they have good leadership. They’ve got great skill. And it’s 2-2. Both teams are going to play at least six games. And if you’re a fan of hockey, you’re going to get entertained.”
