City officials are reminding the public that setting off fireworks is only allowed in backyards on Saturday from sundown until 11 p.m. Anyone setting off fireworks outside of that timeframe without a permit could be fined, city officials say.

The London Majors will be playing their traditional Canada Day game at Labatt Park on Saturday, with opening pitch against Hamilton set for 6:05 p.m. Every year, fans gather on the outfield grass post-game to watch the fireworks.

Environment Canada’s forecast was projecting a 40 per cent chance of rain on Saturday with nighttime temperatures expected to hover around a low of 17 C.
