Forsberg Takes the All Star Ice with Team Matthews
While his teammates may be headed to warmer destinations for their break, Predators' forward Filip Forsberg is representing the franchise at the All Star weekend in Toronto. This afternoon Forsberg will join his new teammates on Team Matthews for the three-on-three All Star competition.
Forsberg was drafted 25th overall by captain Auston Matthews, assistant captain Morgan Reilly, and celebrity co-captain Justin Bieber at the All Star draft on Thursday night.
As the pick was announced, it was no secret who they wanted.
"We know who we're going to pick," Matthews said. "He has the best mustache in the NHL; I quite envy it. From the Nashville Predators, Filip Forsberg."
Forsberg joins an impressive group for today's game.

Matthews and Reilly opted to keep the band together, making sure to get teammates Mitch Marner and William Nylander on their roster early.
Forsberg and his All Star group will be coached by Boston Bruins coach Jim Montgomery.
Predators fans know three-on-three hockey is a situation in which Forsberg shines having scored three overtime goals so far this season in exciting fashion. Who would it be fun to see Forsberg skate with this afternoon when Team Matthews faces Team Hughes at three-on-three?
It'd be fun to see Forsberg with captain Auston Matthews playing with the extra space on the ice three-on-three provides. Arizona's Clayton Keller has shown Predators' fans his talent, scoring three goals and five points in the Coyotes' two games against the Predators so far this season. He and Forsberg could be a great combination today as well.
Forsberg and Team Matthews take the ice at 3:00 pm CT after Team McDavid and Team MacKinnon play. The winners of each game face off in the final match.
