Jan Virgili, Landry Farré and Leonard Saca score the goals to come from behind and secure qualification

The U19 team have secured passage to the knockout stages of the UEFA Youth League thanks to a 3-2 win away to Borussia Dortmund. Unlike the senior Champions League, in this competition teams just play six group matches, and Barça end the phase an impressive fourth in the table.

It was also an impressive display in Germany, coming from behind with two goals scored by centre backs from corners, Farré and Saca, with Jan Virgili getting the other.

Barça will now get home advantage in the single-leg round of 16 against one of the teams that finished 17th to 22nd in the table, namely Celtic, Borussia Dortmund (again!), Liverpool, Lille, Dinamo Zagreb or Monaco.

Trailing twice

The game at the Dortmund Brackel Training Ground was a tight one, but Barça were creating most of the chances, especially down the left, so it was somewhat against the run of play when BVB took the lead following a corner, with Diallo delivering the fatala blow meaning the Catalans were behind at the break

A fine finish from Jan Virgili levelled things up, but then another move following a corner resulted in Mussa Kaba ending a series of back-and-forths in the Barça by re-establishing the home side's lead.

Two corners

Barça kept fighting and eventually found two goals that snatched the win, which like the Dortmund goals also came from coners, but more directly. Landry Farré headed in the equaliser after 65 minutes and then with eight minutes to go, Saca demonstrated similar brilliance in the air to score the goals that sealed a place in the next round as one of the top-seeded teams.
