Easton Cowan never stops.
The Ontario Hockey League’s playoff MVP prepared for Wednesday’s championship-clinching 7-1 victory in Oshawa by watching a replay of the London Knights’ 1-0 Game 4 triumph in St. Catharines eight years ago.

“We had the jump right from the start (to get the sweep).”
The Toronto first-rounder grew up a huge fan of Mitch Marner, who led the Knights to the 2016 title. Cowan has followed him as the best player in the regular season and playoffs.
The only thing left is the Memorial Cup and MVP honours there, too.
“It’s a great feeling,” the 18-year-old from Mt. Brydges said. “I’m very proud of this team. We came a long way last year from losing (in the OHL final, to Peterborough). It’s an unreal feeling.”
The Generals had no answer for him. He torched them for 15 of his league-best 34 post-season points.
“I thought as the playoffs kept going, he got better,” London GM Mark Hunter said. “He had the drive to win hockey games and showed it. Not just with skill. He played hard in the corners. He played with grit and killed penalties. He’s a good player. He’s going to be a Leaf someday and it’s just a matter of when.
“What he does in the summer time will dictate what he does for the Leafs.”
