Now that school’s out for the summer, it’s time to shop, and Kith is doing its part to lure the younger generation into a store.
On Friday, Kith will open a new Kith Kids flagship in Dumbo. This marks the second kids concept to open and is the third Kith store in Brooklyn, the New York borough where the company got its start.
The Dumbo flagship is located at 55 Water Street, right along the East River overlooking Manhattan. It will carry the brand’s seasonal children’s collections of ready-to-wear apparel, accessories and footwear. And, no surprise, the store also features an in-store Kith Treats where customers can enjoy ice cream.
Upon entering, customers will be greeted by cloud motif designs, pink Kith monogrammed walls and multi-colored stone floors in the apparel and footwear departments. In the Kith Treats area, there is custom Kith monogrammed wallpaper, Carrera marble countertops, Rosa Aurora columns and steel accents.
To introduce the store to the neighborhood, Kith has created a special treat: a double-size ice cream served in two kid-sized Kith Treats cups. One will feature vanilla and chocolate ice cream mixed with Cocoa Puffs, Oreos and mini M&Ms and finished with a chocolate drizzle, and the second, vanilla ice cream with strawberries, Frosted Flakes and mini marshmallows with a strawberry drizzle on top.
In addition to the special ice cream, Kith has reprised its partnership with Disney to celebrate the store opening by creating a custom apparel and accessories capsule inspired by the “Dumbo” animated film. The collection includes tees and hoodies featuring artwork from the movie as interpreted by Kith. It will be available exclusively at the Kith Dumbo store on opening day before being rolled out to other Kith shops.
The store will also offer special Manhattan Bridge and Dumbo — the neighborhood not the Disney elephant — illustrations on cotton crewnecks, tees and hoodies as well as an embroidered cotton twill cap.
Kith operates 13 stores worldwide including in Paris, Toronto, Tokyo and a number of U.S. cities.
