Gamethread 12/23/2023: New Jersey Devils vs. Detroit Red Wings
The night before the night before Christmas will include a hockey game in Newark. It is a rematch of the opening night game. And also the final time these two will face off this season unless there is a 2024 date I am missing.
The Time: 7:00 PM ET

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils vs. the Detroit Red Wings
The Song of the Night: During the pandemic, Sabaton went to work on a second album about World War I. As per frontman and singer Joakim Brodén, they felt there were more stories to tell from that era. So they did so in 2022’s The War to End All Wars. Their first single from the album, “Christmas Truce,” alone justifies the effort.
The Rules: The rules remain as they are even as the Devils are playing Detroit for apparently the final time this season.
