ROCHESTER, N.Y. — With Corey Conners off to a strong start at the PGA Championship this week, he is sure to be picking up some new fans. The Canadian has three previous top-10 finishes at major championships, all at the Masters, and is looking to add major winner to his bio on Sunday here at Oak Hill. If he’s raising any eyebrows over at Greg Norman Manor, or in LIV Golf chatrooms (if such things exist), the Canadian is on the record with Postmedia saying he has no interest in jumping ship to the rival tour.

“No, not really. Life’s so good on the PGA Tour, I’m really happy,” Conners said. “I want to play in events like the RBC Canadian Open, the feeling of playing there is absolutely incredible and you’re certainly giving a lot up if going there so it’s never really been on my mind. I’m intrigued by what’s happening and I can’t blame some of the guys for going, but it’s not right for me.”
Bryson DeChambeau explains his dramatic body change Canadians golfers set record at PGA Championship with early round play PGA CHAMPIONSHIP: Paige Spiranac battles rivals Grace Charis, Katie SigmondConners said at the time, that he had plenty more to accomplish on the PGA Tour. He has made some progess since we spoke about it, winning the Valero Texas Open for the second time last month. And now he’s back in contention at a major.
“I want to climb up the world rankings. I got into the top 50, into the top 30, and I want to be a top-10 player in the world and I see myself doing that on the PGA Tour,” he said. “I’ve got a lot to work for and I’m willing to put in the work and there’s a lot of good things that can happen playing these major championships and playing on the PGA Tour.”
Of course, everybody can change their mind, but that’s where Canada’s top-ranked golfer stood on the issue less than a year ago.
