Moritz Seider And Connor Bedard Have Unique High-Sticking ...
All's well that ends well.
Fortunately, for the Detroit Red Wings, they opened the scoring against the Chicago Blackhawks. Alex DeBrincat potted the game's first goal in the dying seconds of the opening frame.
The Red Wings would go on to win 4-1, in no small part because of the efforts of DeBrincat, Cam Talbot, and Dylan Larkin.
Top defender Moritz Seider continued his streak of heavy minutes, playing 24:37. He collected an assist and was +4 on the night.
He also had an entertaining run-in with Blackhawks phenom Connor Bedard.
Bedard shovels the puck along the boards to keep it in the Red Wings' zone. Seider approaches the boards to stop the puck but instead gets Bedard's stick straight to the face.
Instead of trying to join the play, Bedard stays there and appears to check in on Seider to see if he's okay. Some quick words are exchanged, and both players pick up their sticks, no harm, no foul.

It's great to see this kind of gamesmanship among young players. This could have easily been a situation where things escalated, especially on the end of the person who got the stick in the face.
Alternatively, the hockey world was treated to a moment of decency between players.
The Red Wings cap off their quick two-game road trip with a contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow night.
