Officials Announced for 2024 CHL/USA Prospects Challenge
The 2024 CHL/USA Prospects Challenge will feature some of the top prospects for the 2025 NHL Draft. It will also highlight some of the organizations’ top officials.
The team of four referees and four linespersons is made up of experienced officials from the Ontario Hockey League, the hosts for this new event. The officials for the CHL USA Prospects Challenge are:
2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge – Game 1 – London, Ontario (Nov. 26)
2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge – Game 2 – Oshawa, Ontario (Nov. 27)
The CHL/USA Prospects Challenge, which replaces the CHL Top Prospects game – will see the best players from the Canadian Hockey League take on the USA Hockey National Team Development Program Under-18 Team in a two-game series.
If a game is tied after regulation, teams will play a five-minute 3-on-3 overtime, followed by a three-round shootout. If either game is still tied after three players have shot for each team, the shootout will continue in a sudden-death fashion using different players until a team wins the game.
If after the completion of the second game of the series, each team has one win, the teams will play 3-on-3 20-minute overtime periods until a goal is scored to determine the winner of the series.
“The CHL USA Prospects Challenge will be a can’t-miss, two-game series on the prospect calendar not only for this season but for years to come,” said CHL president Dan McKenzie. “We look forward to bringing it to life in London and Oshawa and providing our incredible fans with a chance to come watch a future generation of NHL stars.”
Game 1 will take place on November 26 in London, Ontario, with Game 2 the following day in Oshawa.
Congratulations to the officials selected to work the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge.
