Chipotle Edmonton

Listen up Albertans, because Edmonton just got its very first Chipotle restaurant, and people are running to try it out — and get some of the freebies they're handing out to the early birds.

In a post to Instagram the popular restaurant said that they're opening on September 19 at 10:45 a.m., making it the first one in Edmonton. They also said that they'll be "offering the first few guests special Chipotle t-shirts," so if you want a burrito with a side of merch, now is your chance.

The Edmonton Chiptole location is in the Ever Square area at 4715 Calgary Trail NW Edmonton, and people seem pumped about the new addition to the area.

Comments on the Instagram post show excitement from Albertans, with loads of exclamation points and of course some fire emojis.

"Yessss!! So excited!" one person wrote.

For anyone not in the know, Chipotle is a fast-casual restaurant famed for its bowels, tacos, and burritos that are made to order. There are already two Chipotle locations in Alberta, in Calgary, making this Edmonton opening the third.

Only three lucky provinces have the American chain — Alberta, Ontario and B.C.

The trend of American fast food chains popping up more in Canada is going strong it seems, with the likes of Shake Shack starting up in Toronto, and expansions like Chipotle's.
