Chappell Roan Confronts “Disrespectful” Photographer on Red Carpet

Chappell Roan is standing up for herself.

The 26-year-old momentarily stopped posing for photos on the red carpet at the premiere of Netflix's concert film Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour in Los Angeles to confront a photographer she alleged acted rude to her at a past event.

"You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys," she told the person, as seen in multiple videos shared on social media, which does not show their face. "You yelled at me at the Grammy party. Yes, I remember. You were so rude to me. And I deserve an apology for that. You need to apologize to me."

The "Good Luck Babe" singer later said, "No, no, no, you need to apologize" before a woman working at the event gently coaxed her away.

The identity of the photographer has not been revealed.

This is not the first time Chappell has confronted someone at a celebrity event over alleged rude behavior.

In September, while on the red carpet at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, the singer became upset after hearing someone in the crowd, reportedly a photographer, shout, "Shut the f--k up!" She spun around and yelled, "You shut the f--k up!" Chappell then wagged her finger and added sternly, "No. Not me, b---h."

She later explained her actions.

"This is quite overwhelming and quite scary," Chappell told Entertainment Tonight. "For someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you, the carpet is horrifying and I yelled back. You don't get to yell at me like that."

The incident took place a month before Chappell called out some not-so-casual fan interactions.

"I don’t care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous," she said on TikTok. "That does not make it OK. That doesn’t make it normal. That doesn’t mean I want it. That doesn’t mean that I like it."

The "Pink Pony Club" singer continued, "I don’t give a f--k if you think it’s selfish for me to say no for a photo or for your time, or for a hug. It’s weird how people think that you know a person just because you see them online and you listen to the art they make. That’s f--king weird. I’m allowed to say no to creepy behavior."
