BROSSARD – Right now, the Canadiens are looking for fastballs, but life keeps tossing them curveballs instead.

Let’s be honest: it’s been a tough stretch for the Habs. Couple four consecutive losses with three injuries, and there’s reason for frustration to build. But dwelling on their misfortunes won’t get the team very far.

So, in the wake of a 7-2 loss to the Rangers at the Bell Centre, the Canadiens returned to work at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard on Wednesday, determined to regroup. Today’s focus: one-on-one and three-on-three battles down low.

“Our defensive zone,” head coach Martin St-Louis responded when asked for what his priority was for this week’s practices. “Our attitude and connectivity. It's about re-emphasizing those [aspects],” he specified.

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Juraj Slafkovský continued their individual work with the team’s director of player development, Adam Nicholas, ahead of the rest of the group’s main on-ice session.

Here are the players that participated in the midweek practice.
