Canada Day fireworks

Tomorrow is our country’s 157th birthday and plenty of events have been planned across St. Thomas-Elgin to celebrate!

The Township of Southwold will kick things off tonight with their annual Canada Day celebration taking place at the Fingal Baseball Park beginning at 7:30 p.m. They’ll have food vendors, music, games and face painting set up on site.

Port Stanley will also be having Canada Day fireworks Sunday night! They’ll begin around 9:30 from the Berm. Then on Monday, the Visitor’s Centre will have free Canada Day cupcakes courtesy of Foodland Port Stanley from noon until gone!

The Municipality of Dutton-Dunwich have an all-day event planned for Sons of Scotland Park , with the Fire Department Breakfast at 8 a.m. and a packed line up of activities before the fireworks display at dusk.

In Port Burwell, the Canada Day Parade kicks off at the Royal Canadian Legion beginning at 10:30 a.m. There will also be a Harvard formation flyover taking place at 12:30 p.m.

Belmont residents will make their way to Don Yeck Park following the annual Decorated Bicycle Parade taking place at 11:30 a.m. From noon until 2 p.m., a hot dog lunch, cake and face painting will be available at the pavilion. Fireworks at dusk!

Canada Day celebrations in West Elgin will take place at Miller Park in West Lorne. Opening ceremonies get underway at 3 p.m. at the Pavilion, with a number of family friendly activities running until 8 p.m. Live music will keep the crowd entertained before the fireworks show at dusk.

For St. Thomas, the celebration returns to 1Password Park this year! Scheduled events kick off at 4 p.m., with the Mayor’s welcome speech and free ice cream cake courtesy of The Ice Box taking place around 6 p.m. Between the free facing painting, inflatables, games, petting zoo and vendors set up throughout, there will be something for everyone!

The Town of Aylmer’s celebration kicks off at 5 p.m. from the East Elgin Community Complex. They’ll be something for the whole family, with live entertainment, a petting zoo, facing painting, a photo booth and more set to take place.
