Want to celebrate Canada Day? Head to the waterfront on Monday

Are you looking for some Canada Day family fun this weekend? Below are some of the patriotic events and festivities happening at Couchiching Beach Park as part of this year's event to mark our nation's birthday.

The Midway

The midway rolled into Couchiching Beach Park on Saturday, continues on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and again on Monday, Canada Day, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Pancake Breakfast

Pancakes, locally produced maple syrup, juice, and Tim Horton's coffee will be served in Couchiching Beach Park in the pavilion inside the Terry Fox Circle from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday. It costs $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Local artisans and retail vendors will set up shop in Couchiching Beach Park's Terry Fox Circle between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday.

Canada Day Cake Cutting

The annual tradition of Canada Day decorated cake from Mariposa Market will be served in the Couchiching Beach Park in the pavilion by the government dock at 2 p.m. on Monday. It's free while supplies last.

Wheelie Great Parade

Registration for the Wheelie Great Parade begins at 10 a.m. on Monday in the tent at the entrance to the Terry Fox Circle. The parade welcomes everyone to decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons, wheelchairs, and more before parading around the Terry Fox Circle at 10:30 a.m.

Children's Village

Inflatables, arts and crafts, demonstrations, and more will be available for children from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday in Couchiching Beach Park. The inflatable attractions are free, and a family magic performance will take place at the Rotary Aqua Theatre at 4 p.m.

Canada Day Parade

The annual Canada Day parade marches from City Hall at noon on Monday. It heads south on Andrew Street before turning onto Mississaga Street and Centennial Drive before dispersing at the north entrance of Couchiching Beach Park on Jarvis Street. 

Entertainment at the Rotary Aqua Theatre

Live music begins in Couchiching Beach Park on Monday with Signature 11 performing from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Daniel Bazinet takes the stage from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. The Boomer Babies take over from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Jakob Pearce headlines the event from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Live music can be enjoyed from the beer garden near the Aqua Theatre. The last call for alcohol is 10:30 p.m.

Fireworks

Canada Day festivities in Couchiching Beach Park are capped off with fireworks at dusk around 9:45 p.m.
