'Technical issues' force closure of Calypso Waterpark on Tuesday

Families visiting Calypso Waterpark were forced to cancel their plans after 'technical issues' forced the closure of the park on Tuesday.

A short statement on the popular attraction's website said the park will remain closed for the rest of the day.

Calypso did not provide further details on the reason for the closure and is asking visitors to monitor the website and social media for a reopening announcement.

Ontario Provincial Police say on social media site X that they are aware of the unexpected closure and is asking the public to avoid the area due to heavy traffic.

The park did not return a CTV News request for comment.

Calypso is located about 45 kilometres southeast of Ottawa.
