Live California election results
In summary
Here are the California election results for ballot propositions, president, Congress and Legislature. They will be continually updated.
Californians finish voting today in one of the most consequential elections in recent years. They’re making their choices for president, U.S. Senate, U.S. House, state Assembly, state Senate and 10 statewide ballot propositions.
While California’s 54 electoral votes for president are virtually guaranteed to go to Vice President Kamala Harris, several swing districts could again help decide control of Congress.
While Democrats are likely to keep their supermajorities in the California Legislature, voters will determine how business-friendly or progressive the Democratic caucus will be — and whether the Legislature reaches gender parity for the first time. And through the ballot measures, voters will help steer the state on crime, rent control and other pressing issues.
In close contests, it could take days, even weeks, for winners to be declared. Ballots postmarked by today can arrive as late as Nov. 12 and be counted. The Secretary of State has until Dec. 13 to certify the results.
