Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Calgary, with heavy snow forecast throughout the morning and a total of as much as 10 to 15 centimetres expected Monday in some areas.

The snowfall should ease throughout the afternoon, the weather agency said in its weather warning, updated shortly before 8 a.m.

Commuters should brace for longer travel times, with ECCC warning that Monday’s weather may have a significant impact on road conditions. Drivers are advised to be prepared for changing and deteriorating road conditions and adjust driving accordingly.

From midnight to 8 a.m., Calgary police reported 16 non-injury collisions, three injury collisions and one non-injury hit-and-run crash.

Gleichen, Bassano and Brooks RCMP responded to a multi-vehicle collision in the west bound lanes of Highway 1, between Highway 842 and Highway 5. Initial reports say over 12 vehicles are involved, and injuries are unknown at this time.
