Britney Spears & Sam Asghari Settle Their Divorce

Nine months after separating, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have settled their divorce.

TMZ reports that the former couple have decided to uphold their prenuptial agreement, and now are waiting for a judge to sign off on the divorce papers and finalize the divorce.

Since the marriage only lasted 14 months, TMZ claims Asghari won't gain much from the divorce, saying "there isn't much aside from jewelry and personal effects ... as well as any earnings she raked in before and during their marriage."

"The divorce was amicable and the prenup was not challenged," a source has told People. "Britney is continuing to flex her freedom and is moving on."

Spears and Asghari met on the set of the video for her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016 and later married in June 2022 after a long courtship.

The couple split after having a "nuclear argument" over Britney's alleged infidelity, according to TMZ. Sources said the marriage had been in trouble for a while, as the couple were known to engage in "frequent screaming matches."  

Earlier this week, Spears was reported to be suffering from mental and financial struggles in the aftermath of settling the ongoing dispute over legal fees with her father, Jamie Spears.
