Brighton vs Liverpool

Arne Slot is riding the crest of a wave at Liverpool right now, having lost just once in his first 13 matches in all competitions.

It has been a remarkable start for the Dutchman, especially given many pundits predicted him to struggle after taking over from Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

The next challenge for Slot's in-form side is a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup, with Liverpool looking to go deep in the cup competitions. Fabian Hürzeler has started similarly impressively in his new job at the Amex Stadium and will provide a stiff challenge.

The Sporting News looks at the team news for this clash and how the two sides line up on England's south coast.

Brighton vs. Liverpool lineups, confirmed starting 11, team news

Brighton captain Lewis Dunk will be among the Seagulls' absentees for this one, having picked up an injury in the warmup before their clash with Wolves last Saturday. Fellow veteran James Milner is also sidelined for the home side, as well as forward Joao Pedro, centre-back Adam Webster and the versatile Solly March.

Hürzeler could have a few more options in attack, however and Evan Ferguson is in from the start as one of eight changes having broken his almost year-long goal drought with a strike off the bench against Wolves. Georginio Rutter cannot play as he's cup-tied, having already featured for Leeds in the Carabao Cup this season.
