Ben Affleck isn't a Nike purist after all

We all know that Ben Affleck loves a Nike sneaker. Over the past 12 months or so, the Oscar winner has been seen out and about in Swoosh grails both old and new. And considering he directed, produced, and starred in 2023's Air, this shouldn't come as too much of a shocker. But what was kinda shocking though were the trainers that he debuted over the weekend.

Named the Out of Office, these Off-White kicks look a lot like the recently-restocked Dunk Low ‘Panda.’ But surprise! These are a lot rarer and a lot pricier. Introduced at the end 2020, this silhouette was designed by the late and great Virgil Abloh and was inspired by old school basketball, running, and tennis shoes all mashed up into one.

This particular ‘Black White’ colourway dropped a whole two years later, and it features a luxe calfskin construction and a chunky rubber sole underfoot. It also comes with the signature Off-White zip-tie. But rather than going with the “normal” plastic ones, this one's made of genuine leather just to really drive the whole premium thing home.

This is a rare sighting of Affleck wearing a non-Nike trainer. And considering he recently showed off ultra-exclusive pairs like the Parra x Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Friends & Family’ and even a custom Dunkin' Donuts model, it looks like he's still in the American sportswear company's good books. So what does his latest pick-up mean? Maybe more Off-White x Nike sneakers are coming. Maybe he's directing an Off-White biopic. Maybe he's designing a full collection for Off-White.

Or maybe (just maybe), Ben Affleck really likes the Off-White Out of Office, and it's not that deep.
