BC Ferries cancellations as of Saturday morning
BC Ferries has provided a list of cancellations and sailings at risk of cancelling Saturday morning due to adverse weather including high winds.
“Due to high winds in the Strait of Georgia, service on multiple routes in this region have been affected today, Saturday, December 14,” states BC Ferries.
Just before 10 a.m. Saturday, the BC Ferries website’s ‘current conditions’ page was no longer displaying updates. The travel advisory page states: “Adverse Weather & Customer Service Centre Technical Difficulties – Saturday, December 14”.

As of 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 the following sailings departing from Vancouver Island terminals were either cancelled or marked as at risk of cancellation.

“To ensure the safety of our customers and crew, the following sailings between Tsawwassen (Vancouver) – Swartz Bay (Victoria) must be cancelled for today, Saturday, December 14, as a result of Environment Canada’s severe weather forecast for high winds and unfavourable sea state in the Strait of Georgia,” states BC Ferries.
