Mikel Arteta has selected the same side that started last Sunday’s Emirates Cup win against Lyon for our Premier League opener against Wolves.

That means that Kai Havertz starts up front, supported on the flanks by Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Declan Rice and Thomas Partey will patrol the midfield behind skipper Martin Odegaard, while our back four and goalkeeper has a familiar look.

Fabio Vieira misses out on the matchday squad as he continues to recover from injury, while Riccardo Calafiori could make his English league debut from the bench, where Jurrien Timber is also an option having missed the last three pre-season matches.

As for Wolves, Gary O’Neil has handed new signings Jorgen Strand Larsen and Rodrigo Gomes the chance to impress from the start,

Matt Doherty gets the nod to start at right-back with Nelson Semedo suspended, while Matheus Cunha is only fit enough for the bench after struggling in pre-season with a hamstring issue.

Yerson Mosquera makes his Premier League bow, three years after making his full debut for the club.
