Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway & Emily Blunt Have Hilarious "Devil ...

It's been 17 years since Meryl Streep's Miranda Priestly gave Anne Hathaway's character the most scorching once-over in film history before muttering the iconic line, “That's all" in The Devil Wears Prada. Streep reclaimed her scathing look once more last night as she reunited with Hathaway and Emily Blunt to the delight of many fans.

The three took the stage on Saturday night at the 2024 SAG Awards as Streep and her two “assistants” were tasked with presenting the award for Best Male Actor in a Comedy Series. The award went to everyone's favorite chef, The Bear's Jeremy Allen White, but before they read his name, Streep, Hathaway, and Blunt dove right back into their characters.

After fumbling on stage over the microphone, Streep — who was actually wearing Prada — quickly recovered and said that she needed her glasses and the envelope. In comes Blunt and Hathaway from opposite sides of the stage, handing both items to her.

“Oh, okay. It's an age-old question. Where does the character end and the actor begin?” Streep begins.

“As we've just seen, Meryl and Miranda Priestly are sort of like twins,” Blunt cuts in.

“I don't think I'm anything like Miranda Priestly,” Streep begins, before Hathaway says, “No, no. That wasn't a question.”

That famous line seemed to revive the Miranda Priestly within Meryl Streep because she then looked Anne Hathaway up and down, observing her long blue (cerulean?) gown. She maintained that glaring silence for a bit before Emily Blunt cut in — “By all means, move at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills me.”

The 2006 film follows a young budding journalist Andy Sachs played by Hathaway as she works alongside Blunt's character for infamous editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly. Streep's interpretation of the character, based on a book of the same name, has been lauded as one of her best performances — earning her an Oscar nominee, among several others.
