It was an exciting game but the defending Grey Cup champions, the Alouettes, were defeated by the Toronto Argonauts in the Eastern final on Saturday at the Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in Downtown Montreal.
The final score 30–28 for the Argonauts – meaning they head to the 111th Grey Cup happening on Nov. 17 in Vancouver.
Alouettes fans still proud of their team despite the loss.
“It’s my team for maybe let’s say 35 years,” said Alouettes fan, Pascal Laviolette. “Still my team.”

“An amazing start,” said another fan. “This is disappointing in a way, because I followed them religiously, as I have been for the last 30 years.”
“I love my Alouettes and this was the year that we could have proven to the rest of the league that we’re not a joke.”
The Argonauts got their revenge.
The Alouettes, who were considered the underdogs last season, defeated Toronto in last year’s Eastern Division Final.
Fans from both teams came into Saturday’s game with high energy.

“We’re very confident,” added Rick Bowes. “But last year we got really smacked.”
“This year it’s going the other way,” said Dave Macdonald.
(Pamela Pagano, CityNews)The Alouettes win last season was their eight Grey Cup overall, and their first since 2010.
It is being referred to as “The Great Eight” – the mantra for this season was “Grind for Nine.”
As for the Argonauts, they’ll now be going against the winner of Saturday’s West final — will it be the Winnipeg Blue Bombers or the Saskatchewan Roughriders?
(Pamela Pagano, CityNews)“They gave us a good game,” added another Alouettes fan. “Never give up hope.”
