June 25 (SeeNews) - Foreign direct investment (FDI) into Albania rose to 354.12 million euro ($379.8 million) in the first quarter of 2024, from 307.3 million euro in the like period last year, the central bank said on Tuesday.

Compared to the previous quarter, the net flow of FDI into Albania dropped 12% in the January-March period, the central bank said in a quarterly data release.

Turkey was the largest investor in Albania, with 69.5 million euro, followed by Italy, with 41.3 million euro, and Austria with 33.7 million euro.

The sectors which attracted the biggest volume of investment by non-residents in the January-March period were real estate with 83.9 million euro and financial and insurance activities with 74.2 million euro.

The inflow of foreign direct investments (FDI) in Albania rose to 1.49 billion euro last year, compared to 1.37 billion euro in 2022.
