Over 700 Indian students are deported from Canada as their Visa documents are found to be fake. Canadian Border Security Agency, CBSA has issued deportation notices to these students. Admission offer letters of these students submitted to educational institutions are found to be fake. These visa applications were filed in 2018 onwards.

The fraud came to light when the students completed their 2-year diploma courses and got work permits. On becoming eligible for permanent resident status in Canada, the students submitted their representations to the immigration department. Following this, their documents were verified and students with fake visa letters were issued deportation notices.

As per a report by IANS, these students applied for study visas through Jaladhar-based Education Migration Services administered by Brijesh Mishra.

Agent Brijesh Mishra used to charge Rs 16 to 20 lakh per student for all expenses like admission fees and others. However, this fee did not include air tickets and security deposits.

These students went to Canada in 2018-19 and their admission letters were scrutinized by CBSA as they applied for permanent residency in Canada.

Indian students submitted their 'admission offer letter' while applying for PR and the letters on the basis of which their Visa was issued, were fake. Upon the revelation of fraud, CBSA issued deportation notices to students.
