PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. – Junior Pablo Ereño led the UCLA men's golf team with a t-8th (-3) finish at the Pauma Valley Invitational at Pauma Valley Country Club on Tuesday. The Bruins tied for sixth (E, 852) in a field of 15 teams.   The par for the tournament was 71.   Vanderbilt won the team title by seven strokes at 20-under 832. Oklahoma State's Jonas Baumgartner earned medalist honors, winning by one stroke at 9-under.   Ereño is playing some of his best golf of the season as of late with his first top-10 finishes of the year coming in back-to-back tournaments (t-7th, -7 at The Prestige on Feb. 21). The Spaniard entered Spring 2024 with two career top 10s under his belt: one in each his freshman and sophomore campaigns.   Ereño shot round scores of 70-68-72.   UCLA's next three finishers were freshman Luke Powell, Omar Morales and Mason Greene who all tied for 22nd at even par. Greene was competing as an individual at the Pauma Valley Invitational. Powell posted round scores of 72-69-72 while Morales shot 70-69-74.   Freshman Alex Papayoanou tied for 51st at 6-over (75-71-73).   The Bruins have two more regular-season events on their schedule with the next competition at The Goodwin at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco from March 28-30.
