All you need to know about Goldy Brar

Goldy Brar was born in the north Indian state of Punjab in 1994 in a family with a history in law enforcement.

He was declared a terrorist by the government of India following the murder of Sidhu Moosewala on May 29, 2022. India’s home ministry believed Brar was also linked to the Babbar Khalsa terrorist organisation, operational in Canada.

Brar was also among the 25 most wanted in Canada where he is accused of being involved in more than 50 murders.

Brar first went to Canada in 2017 on a student visa. Later, he permanently fled to Canada in 2021.

In Canada, Brar took over operations of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi jailed in India. These operations included contract killing and extortion rackets in India, among others. In 2022, the Interpol issued a notice against him following which he reportedly moved to the United States.

Last year, Brar’s cousin, Gurlal Brar was killed outside a Chandigarh nightclub by unknown men. Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang later claimed responsibility for the attack, and said they carried out the killing in vengeance for the death of Youth Congress leader Gurlal Pahalwan.
