The Winnipeg Jets are now in injury hit territory with a Gabriel Vilardi being out 4-6 weeks with a MCL sprain. The Jets are going to have to shake it off because they are looking at a tough game against the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Knights have been an organization that ruthlessly trades players to improve their team which is something other NHL teams might want to look into emulating. It allows for rapid improvement if the right moves are eventually made. The Jets themselves could look at Vegas to see how being proactive and taking big swings can pay off.

Outside of injuries, the Jets are entering a time when they are playing every second day. They will need to rest Connor Hellebuyck at some point even though he will probably end up playing his standard 65ish games over a full season. The Jets would be smart to get Laurent Brossoit in at some point soon so he does not get cold. I am not advocating for him to play against the Golden Knights, but he should get a game in soon.

The Golden Knights are undefeated this season and deservingly so. They are a strong team that did not lose a lot (if anything) during the offseason. The Jets will be in tough tonight.
