Eminem and LL COOL J have linked up, and LL’s tour mate Questlove was feeling a little bit of the FOMO as a result.

Ahead of the F.O.R.C.E. Tour performance in Em’s home city of Detroit on Friday (August 18), the “Headsprung” rapper and Slim Shady posed for a few photos outside the Little Caesar’s Arena, where LL also let fans know that they could enter to win free tickets to the show if they stopped by Mom’s Spaghetti, Eminem’s restaurant, and mentioned “FORCE” with their purchase.

“When legends hit the city, you know it’s always on!” read the caption on Rock The Bells’ Instagram page. “@llcoolj and @eminem linked up ahead of tonight’s F.O.R.C.E Tour in Detroit and the pics say it all! Head to RockTheBells.com (link in bio) to read/see more!”

That prompted LL COOL J’s tour mate, Questlove, to ask a burning question in the comments section. “Damn son why didn’t he pull up? He shoulda rocked w us!” he wrote.

Though Eminem didn’t “pull up” to the performance, LL COOL J and The Roots’ Detroit concert was still a jam-packed affair as Common, Ice-T, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and MC Lyte came out as guests, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The self-proclaimed Rap God and G.O.A.T. have become close friends over the years, with Slim Shady revealing back in 2021 that Uncle L once fulfilled his childhood wish by gifting him some sought-after jewelry.

During his Behind the Music episode on Paramount+, Eminem reflected on LL COOL J’s iconic gold rope chains in the “I’m Bad” video and how a conversation with Rick Rubin led to him getting his hands on his own set.

“Since I was a little kid, I always wanted a chain,” he said. “I was recording with Rick Rubin and I was like, ‘Yo, can you ask LL where he got his chains from?’ So he had these made and sent them to me.”

He added: “He was the first rock star of rap. I’m like, ‘Yo, I wanted that.’ That is what made me actually want to rap.”

Em and LL also shared the stage together during the latter’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2021, where they joined forces to perform his classic 1985 hit “Rock the Bells.”

“It was such an honor, 16 y.o. Marshall is so proud – congrats L!” Eminem wrote on Twitter of the pinch-me moment.
