The City of Sault Ste. Marie has released its holiday operations schedule for this coming Easter weekend.
A number of city facilities and services will be closed from Friday through Monday, including the Civic Centre, the GFL Memorial Gardens administrative office, and the City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot.
The city’s Household Hazardous Waste Depot will open to the public for the season beginning April 16, and the landfill will be open on Saturdays beginning April 20.

The city’s landfill will be closed Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1. The landfill will be open on Saturdays beginning April 20.
The city’s Household Hazardous Waste Depot will open to the public for the season beginning April 16 and will operate Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
GFL Memorial Gardens – Box office open Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Open for scheduled programming Saturday, March 30 and Monday, April 1.
John Rhodes – closed Friday, March 29 and Sunday, March 31. Open for scheduled programming Saturday, March 30. Sledge skating is available Monday, April 1 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., adult skating from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. and public skating from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Marina – Bellevue Marina seasonal boat launch passes are for sale at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre Community Services office (lobby level). The cost is $70. Cash, debit, credit card (in-person or over the phone) is accepted. Passes can also be purchased online.
Northern Community Centre Arena – closed Friday, March 29 and Sunday, March 31. Open for scheduled programming Saturday, March 30 and Monday, April 1.
Northern Community Centre Community Space – closed except for scheduled bookings on Friday, March 29. Open Saturday March 30. Closed Sunday, March 31. Open for scheduled bookings Monday, April 1. No walking or Active 55+ programs Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1.
John Rhodes Community Centre Pool – The pool is open holiday hours Friday, March 29, and Sunday March 31 with parent and child/lane swim 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and public swimming 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. Regular programming on Saturday, March 30 and Monday, April 1. View the spring swim schedule here
Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site – open Saturday, March 30 for Easter egg hunt activities. Register online. Closed Friday March 29, Sunday, March 31 and Monday, April 1.
Public Libraries – all libraries will be closed Friday, March 29, Sunday, March 31 and Monday, April 1. The James L. McIntyre Centennial Library and North Branch will be open Saturday, March 30 for regular operational hours.
Transit Service
Transit and Parabus will not operate Friday, March 29. Regular weekend service for transit and Parabus runs Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31. Regular weekday service resumes Monday, April 1. For transit information, call 705-759-5438.
